COMMUNITY

At JL's we believe that contributing and being involved with the communities we work in is a very important part of our business.

Below are some of the ways we help the people in our community

THE CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION
Trees For Tots Fundraiser

Since established in 2013 we have been heavily involved with the Childrens Foundation Guelph/Wellington with the annual Trees For Tots event. When we first started volunteering with the event it was mainly the owner Joe and one staff. Over the years the event has gown tremendously to where we voulunteer our team of 6 staff, 3 dump trucks and 2 wood chippers on the day of the event. There are many meetings Joe is involved with that take place every year prior to the event to ensure all the logistics, volunteers and trees are accounted for to make the event a success.

The Trees For Tots event consists of over 200 community volunteers and 20 to 30 companies volunteering their time, staff and equipment. Since we have been involved with the event it has grown from chipping 1000 xmas trees two 4000+ raising up to 100K annually for children in need that live in our community. Over the years we have helped raise over $500K from this event alone.

JL's will always be a part of this amazing event as it makes kids lives better.

GUELPH HUMANE SOCIETY
Cat & Animal Rescue

At JL's we have been helping people in our community when they have a furry friend stuck in a tree. Each year we receive calls from the Humane Society to help with a cat stuck in a treeOver the years we have rescued over 50 cats from trees free of charge. We believe in helping people in their time of need is the least we can do. We have rescued cats that have been stuck in trees for as long as 7 days, the truth is that "yes" cats do get stuck in trees so you can count on us to get your family member down when they are stuck.

Here are some photos & videos of us helping people in our community reunite with their cats.
